Rick Myers is from Fremont, Nebraska where he still calls home. Rick earned his Juris Doctor from Creighton University and spent time as a professor at the University of Nebraska College of Law and at Midland University. He has been with McGill since 1997.
With over 45 years of experience, Rick has seen it all! Rick has been a Chapter 7 Bankruptcy Trustee in Nebraska since 1978. He also practices and shares a wealth of knowledge in general business law, real estate, banking, creditors’ rights, and estate planning. He is a vivacious attorney with creative solutions to difficult problems. Rick approaches the practice of law with the motto “there is always a solution.” Sometimes that solution is not a legal remedy and Rick is gifted at putting himself in the shoes of clients to identify what remedy may be in their best interest, regardless of whether that involves litigation. He has a way about him that can bring all the parties to the table to expedite the outcome and get everyone back to business. Rick is extremely well connected in Nebraska and known as a fair and equitable attorney.
Since 2008, Rick has been selected by his peers for inclusion in The Best Lawyers in America® in the fields of Bankruptcy and Creditor Debtor Rights / Insolvency and Reorganization Law, has been selected to the Super Lawyers list since 2012, and has earned the AV Preeminent designation in Martindale-Hubbell® Peer Review Ratings™, the gold standard in attorney ratings.
Rick spends much of his free time volunteering. He is the former Grand Master of Masons in Nebraska and a past International Director of Lions Clubs International. In his remaining free time, you will find Rick on the water or on a motorcycle.
