
Matthew D. Wauson, is a rising third-year law student at the University of Nebraska College of Law, where he is pursuing a concentration in Employment and Labor Law and is expected to graduate in May 2026. He currently serves as an editor of the Nebraska Law Review and is the President of the Global Trade and Business Think Tank. Matthew has been recognized with the Henry Foster Distinguished Scholar Award and received the CALI Excellence for the Future Award in Employment Discrimination.
As a research assistant to Professor Steven Willborn, former dean of the College of Law, Matthew supports faculty scholarship in employment law and legal writing. He is passionate about advancing workplace fairness and legal ethics.
Matthew earned his undergraduate degrees magna cum laude from Arizona State University, where he majored in Business Law and Human Resource Management. At ASU, he was an active member of the W. P. Carey Leadership Academy.
In addition to his academic commitments, Matthew volunteers as a judge for Nebraska High School DECA competitions, focusing on events in business/legal ethics and human resource management. Outside of his professional pursuits, he enjoys live comedy, college sports, and international travel.
Matthew plans to sit for the Nebraska Bar Exam in July 2026.
